Oulu is centrally located in Finland with good connections
to major European cities.
The city is well known for its pedestrian street,
Rotuaari, and its extensive cycleway network. Local and
regional public transport is run by several different bus
operators.
Oulu has excellent domestic and international connections.
The arterial routes for road traffic are the main roads 4,
20 and 22. Oulu is served by good train and coach
connections from all over Finland, Oulu Airport is the
second busiest in Finland and cargo ships from all over
Europe call at the Port of Oulu on their regular routes.
Oulu covers an area of 1511.3 square kilometres.
