Workshop - bridging the way to goals!
Youth workshops offer a variety of training and job opportunities
for young people in Oulu aged 17-24.
The aim of the workshops is to help young people to realise their individual plans,
to promote employment among the young and to make it easier to apply for studies.
The workshops are intended for unemployed youth with no vocational training,
or for those with vocational training but no work experience.
The average duration of workshop participation is six months,
based on a personalised plan and individual needs.
The workshop period includes work at the workshop, work orientation and training.
During the period, participants are given individual counselling e.g. on career
choice matters.
Among the partners participating in the workshop activity are the following:
Oulu Region Employment Office, City of Oulu Employment Centre,
units of the social and health care sector, the education sector,
Oulu Regional Youth Housing Association, Workplace Training Services of Oulu
Vocational College as well as various educational institutions,
Merikoski Vocational Training Centre.
